About HID^® ActivClient^® for macOS 9.7

ActivClient is middleware for smart cards and USB tokens that allows enterprise and government customers to easily use security devices to secure workstations and networks.

ActivClient enables the use of PKI certificates and keys, one-time passwords and static password credentials stored on a smart card or a USB key to secure:

Desktop applications	Web logon
Network logon	Electronic transactions
Remote access

Components

ActivClient consists of the following components:

• ActivClient Console: Provides a management GUI for your security devices and credentials.

• ActivClient CryptoTokenKit (CTK): Provides native macOS PKI Public Key Infrastructure. A framework that enables secure, electronic identities through the use of public key cryptography, including the creation, distribution, and management of digital certificates. capabilities for all tokens supported by ActivClient, including PIN authentication, smart card logon, and email protection.

• ActivClient BSI: Used by legacy applications to access the services provided by applets stored on a supported smart card or key.

• PKCS#11 support: Provides smart card support for applications relying on the PKCS#11 API.

  The PKCS#11 .dylib file is located in the following directory:

  /Applications/ActivClient CryptoTokenKit.app/Contents/Resources/libactivclient-pkcs11.dylib
