Configure the Temporary Password Policy

A Temporary password is a static value that the Help Desk Operator can set when a user asks for an emergency password (lost, damaged or forgot their device).

You can define the requirements that the temporary password must meet.

Note:  To configure the temporary password policy, you must install Hot Fixes FIXS2312003 and FIXS2312004.
  1. Select Tools, then click Options.

  2. Select Security.

  3. Under Temporary Password Policy, set the required configuration:

    Parameter Description

    Minimum length

    Defines the minimum number of characters allowed

    Supported values are 4 to 24

    Maximum length

    Defines the maximum number of characters allowed

    Supported values are 12 to 24

    Must not contain the User ID

    Defines if the password can contain the User ID

    Constraints

    Defines the character constraints for the password:

    • Minimum number of lowercase characters
    • Minimum number of uppercase characters
    • Minimum number of numerical characters
    • Minimum number of special characters
  4. Click OK to apply the settings.
