Configure the SMS Gateway

  1. Select Tools, then click Options.
  2. Select SMS Gateway.

  3. Select the protocol to use for sending the SMS to the cell phone.

    • Short Message Peer to Peer (SMPP) - can be used with any SMS provider capable of supporting v3.3 of this protocol.
    • HTTP - a BT-specific protocol.
  4. Enter the IP address or domain name of the SMS Center’s server in the SMS Center Address field.
  5. Enter the port number for the above server in the SMS Center Port field.
  6. Enter the credentials that the AAA Server uses to authenticate to the SMS Center server in the SMS Center Login and SMS Center Password fields.

  7. Note: The information required for the SMS Gateway Settings section should be provided to you by your selected SMS provider.
  8. Click Send a test SMS to verify that the configuration works.

  9. Enter the number of the telephone that should receive the test message.
  10. Enter the text of the test message and, optionally, the sender’s telephone number, then click OK.
  11. Optional. Complete the fields to configure a Backup SMS Gateway in case the primary gateway fails.
  12. Define the attribute in which the cell telephone numbers are stored in your organization’s LDAP directory in the Cell Phone Number LDAP Attribute field.
  13. In the SMS Message section, customize the message(s) to be sent to the user’s mobile with the generated password.

    Two different messages can be defined if SMS authentication is to be used as both a primary and secondary authentication method.

  14. Click OK to apply the SMS Gateway settings.
