View/Regenerate the Appliance SSH Public Key

The ActivID Appliance supports the SSH or Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), as well as FTP, for use with its Reporting, Backup and Archive Audit functions.

You must register the appliance’s Server Public Key (dedicated to SSH communications) as the authorized key for the given account ID on the SFTP server (SSH connection).

This key is available in the SFTP/FTP Sites configuration page of the ActivID Console.

  1. Log on to the ActivID Console and, under Configuration in the left menu, select SFTP/FTP Sites.

  2. Select the Appliance SSH Key tab.

  3. The Appliance SSH Public Key field provides the public part of the SSH-dedicated key pair. This value can be copied for external uses such as the registration of users to a SSH server.

For details about registering the public key, refer to the documentation provided with your SSH server.

  4. You can regenerate the appliance’s public key by clicking Regenerate Appliance SSH key pair under the Appliance SSH Public Key field.

  5. Confirm that the key should be renewed.

  6. When the regeneration is complete, the new value of the public part for the key pair is displayed in the Appliance SSH Public Key field.

  7. Update your SSH server configuration with the new value.
