Backing Up ActivID AS Data

It is highly recommended that you back up all ActivID AS data in accordance with your organization’s backup policies and procedures.

All database backup and recovery procedures must be handled using Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) tools. There are no ActivID AS specific utilities required for database backup.

Note: You should synchronize the backup of the cryptographic keys and the database so that a system recovery/restoration procedure would use synchronized data.

JCE Version Security Data

To back up the security data in the JCE version:

  1. Make a backup of the ActivID.keystore file located in the following directory:

    2. <ACTIVID_HOME>/ActivID_AS/config

  1. Archive the ActivID.keystore file, and store it securely.

You should also keep a secure copy of the keystore password for future use (for example, if you want to add a server node).

It is recommended that you back up all your ActivID AS customization files as described in Generate a Customization Package , and in accordance with your organization’s backup policies and procedures.
