Upgrading from ActivID CMS 5.0.3
ActivID CMS 5.1 only supports upgrades from ActivID CMS 5.0.3. If you intend to upgrade from an earlier version, you will need to upgrade to ActivID CMS 5.0.3 first. For details, refer to the ActivID CMS 5.0.3 documentation.
Configuration files that were previously located in the WEB-INF/conf folder have been reorganized in ActivID CMS 5.1 under the %PROGRAMDATA% folder. Upgrades no longer automatically overwrite all existing configuration files. Most customized files and/or added plug-ins are preserved, with the exception of localized files for the User Portal. For more details, see Particularities Concerning Upgrade to ActivID CMS 5.1.
-
The installer backs up the existing ActivID CMS folder to the Backup folder under the existing Credential Management System folder. Any files that differ from the standard ones are kept.
-
If you had made any updates to LOCALIZED files applied to the User Portal in the previous ActivID CMS version, then you MUST make similar updates to content of the NEW FILES included in ActivID CMS 5.1. See Re-apply User Portal Customizations below for more details.
-
If you had created any additional files (for example, additional plugins), they will be restored automatically.
-
A log file listing the differences between the previously installed settings files (formerly located in the former WEB-INF\conf folder) and the new installation settings is generated at the end of installation.
-
After an upgrade of CMS, the CMS extension in Edge or Chrome may not work correctly. In this case, cleaning the browser cache could solve the issue.
