Use Case: Face-to-Face Card Issuance

This use case describes the process of on-demand (face-to-face) card personalization.

This use case occurs when a PIV Personal Identity Verification (technical standard of "HSPD-12") applicant is issued, re-issued, renewed or post-issued a PIV card.

The use case is applicable whether the issuance occurs from a badging station Synonymous with the term Issuance Station, the badging station is the server where a cardholder can be issued a PIV card by an officer authorized to execute the PIV card request. or a third party badging station.

System Components

The system in this use case consists of:

  • The ActivID CMS CCM Service and CCM API integrated by the IDPRS.

  • The ActivID CMS Generic client plug-in for biometric verification.

  • The ActivID CMS Enrollment plug-in that handles the CPR.

  • The ActivID CMS Notification plug-in for IDPRS notification.
