About the Notification Plug-In

The IDPRS must be notified of PIV Personal Identity Verification (technical standard of "HSPD-12") card lifecycle changes as they occur. The following events are generated by ActivID CMS. The Notification plug-in can be used to trap these events and notify the IDPRS when they occur.

The following events are managed (success and failure cases), along with any or all of the data attributes indicated:

• Initial, temporary, or permanent card issuance, post-issuance, or re-issuance. (FASCN, GUID, CUID).

• Card activation In the context of ActivID, card activation refers to the unlocking of an application or GlobalPlatform locked card. This operation is usually associated with batch issuance and help desk operations. In the context of PIV, card activation implies PIN authentication to the PIV card to “activate” privileged operations. (FASCN, GUID, CUID).

• Initial, temporary, or permanent card issuance request lifecycle change (FASCN, GUID).

• Biometric check (FASCN, GUID).

• Initial, temporary, or permanent card lifecycle change (FASCN, GUID, CUID).

• User lifecycle change (FASCN, GUID).

• Initial, temporary, or permanent card unlock (FASCN, GUID, CUID).
