About pivCLASS IDPublisher

pivCLASS IDPublisher is a software application designed to import credentials from an authoritative data source such as ActivID Credential Management System (CMS) and provision these credentials into a Physical Access Control Systems (PACS) database.

pivCLASS IDPublisher enables external authoritative data source applications (clients) to perform various PACS provisioning and de-provisioning functions such as adding a cardholder, adding a credential to an existing cardholder, adding or deleting access privileges of a cardholder. It can also obtain the PACS status of a badge. This is useful in cases where the PACS badge administrator has suspended a given credential. PIV Personal Identity Verification (technical standard of "HSPD-12"), PIV-I, and CIV Commercial Identity Verification credential types are supported.

Instead of performing separate credential registrations at each PACS server, registration can be performed once from pivCLASS MultiPACS, which manages the data exchange with the multiple configured PACS servers and automatically provisions the identity and credential records on each PACS.

pivCLASS MultiPACS obtains the cardholders’ information through ActivID CMS using pivCLASS IDPublisher software. The figure illustrates architecture between ActivID CMS, IDPublisher, and MultiPACS connector that provides one identity simultaneously into multiple access control systems without the cardholder having to visit each site to register a credential.

Utilizing the pivCLASS Certificate Manager, digital certificates are revalidated on an ongoing basis after registration. If a certificate is found to be revoked by the agency or organization that issued it, the credential may be suspended in any of the PACS connected to MultiPACS (if it is configured to do so).
