Configuring ActivID CMS for Use with Verizon UniCERT Programmatic Interface (UPI)

This section explains how to configure ActivID CMS for use with Verizon UniCERT Programmatic Interface (UPI).

Note: ActivID CMS currently supports UniCERT.5.5.1 core components with UPI 5.5.1.

Prerequisites: You must ensure the following conditions are met:

You must install and configure Verizon UniCERT. For details, refer to the UniCERT Administrator’s Guide for Windows or the Verizon/UniCERT documentation.
Important: The Verizon UniCERT CA is not supported when the ActivID CMS server is installed with Java Development Kit (JDK) 17. Install ActivID CMS with JDK 11 instead.
Complete the following tasks to set up UniCERT for the first time:
- CA creation and configuration (creation of user account)
- CAO creation and configuration (creation of user account)
- PKI for CA
  - Creation of PKI Registration Policies for CA and CAO (creation of PKI user accounts)
  - Creation of PKI for CA
  - Creation of PKI Crypto-Profiles for CA
  - Creation of CA service
- PKI for RA
  - Creation of PKI Registration Policy for RA A Registration Authority (RA) is an authority in a network that verifies user requests for a digital certificate and instructs the CA to issue it. An RA is part of a PKI, a networked system that enables companies and users to exchange information safely and securely. (creation of PKI user account)
  - Creation of PKI for RA
  - Creation of PKI Crypto-Profiles for RA
  - Creation of RA Service
