ActivID CMS Databases

The following summary lists the databases used by ActivID CMS. The ActivID CMS Setup program creates six database instances.

Important: The database system can reside on the same machine as the ActivID CMS server, or it can reside an entirely different machine. However, keep all of the databases installed on the same machine, not two different ones.
  • Configuration Database (AIMSEE)— Contains the definition of roles, operators, and configuration parameters for the ActivID CMS portal. Also lists such things as Certificate Authorities, LDAP Lightweight Directory Access Protocol information, and specific processes.

  • Card Content Database (AIMSCTI)—Contains the current content of every device managed by the current installation of ActivID CMS. It also includes applications that are stored on the device, as well as necessary information to manage credentials stored on the device.

  • Logistics Database (AIMSLGI)—Contains the logical status of every device (for example, whether it is available in stock, issued to a user, pending, or damaged), and the binding to the user.

  • Request Database (AIMSRQI)—Contains all the device requests for issuance and post-issuance operations on the device.

  • Audit Database (AIMSAUDIT)—Contains a record of all operations performed with ActivID CMS for auditing purposes.

  • User Database (AIMSUSER)—Used when ActivID CMS is deployed in conjunction with ActivID Batch Management System (BMS) servers. Contains information about the physical status of devices.
