PIV Self-Services Use Cases
The following sections describe self-service use cases for PIV Personal Identity Verification (technical standard of "HSPD-12") cards.
Use Case: Self-Service Card Update
The following use case describes the process of self-service card applications update using the ActivID CMS User Portal.
Basic Flow of Events

There is no change to the current post-issuance use case in ActivID CMS.

The post-issuance requests submitted by the IDPRS may be executed from the ActivID CMS User Portal.

The IDPRS will be notified upon execution of the port-issuance request from IDPRS.
Use Case: Self-Service Change PIN/Change Security Questions
This use case describes the process of self-service PIN/Security Question changes using the ActivID CMS User Portal. There is no change to the current change PIN use case in ActivID CMS.
Use Case: Self-Service Card Incident Reporting
This use case describes the process of self-service card incident reporting using the ActivID CMS User Portal. There is no change to the current use case in ActivID CMS. Cardholders can declare a lost, forgotten, stolen or damaged card.
The IDPRS is notified when a smart card incident is triggered by the cardholder.
