Installation and Upgrade

Important: HID CMS 6.2 can work with HID CMS Client 6.0 or higher; however, if you want to use the latest functionality (FIDO passkey registration in Entra ID), you must install HID CMS Client 6.2.

Refer to Installing ActivID CMS for detailed instructions related to:

installing HID CMS 6.2 on a new system
upgrading from ActivID CMS 5.10 and above.

HID CMS 6.2 supports upgrades from ActivID CMS 5.10 and above. If you intend to upgrade from an earlier version, you will need to upgrade to ActivID CMS 5.10 or higher first. For details, refer to Installing ActivID CMS.

Starting with ActivID CMS 5.1, the backup mechanism has been modified in order to preserve customer settings as much as possible. You are advised to refer to Installing ActivID CMS for details.
