Configuring ActivID CMS for Use with Microsoft Active Directory

This section describes how to configure the ActivID CMS in a Microsoft environment using Microsoft Active Directory. It covers the prerequisites to configuration and provides step-by-step procedures for configuring Active Directory and ActivID CMS to work with the Microsoft CA. This section describes how to:

  • Configure ActivID CMS server user account access rights,

  • Configure secure communications between ActivID CMS and Active Directory,

  • Set user passwords.

Before You Start

This section lists prerequisites that you must meet before you attempt to configure ActivID CMS for use with the Microsoft Active Directory and CA.

  1. Create the appropriate user accounts you will need.

  2. Configure ActivID CMS to connect to the Microsoft Active Directory. For more information, refer to Configuring Repositories.

  3. Install a Microsoft CA and make sure it is up and running.
