Viewing Status Reports

The Validation Authority Status page allows to monitor server performance and validation request details. This page is accessible by using the following URL. Replace authority with the actual server’s name.

The Status page provides following information:

  • Authority Version - The current installed version of Validation Authority software.

  • Current Server Time - The current time on the Validation Authority server.

  • Max Memory – The maximum amount of memory available for the use for Validation Authority.

  • Currently Allocated Memory – Amount of memory occupied by the Validation Authority.

  • Currently Unused Memory – Amount of free server memory available on Validation Authority.

  • Total Unused Memory – Amount of free server memory on Validation Authority out of the total amount of memory available for Validation Authority.

  • Network read timeout - Timeout waiting for data from Validation Authority

  • Networks connect timeout - Timeout establishing connection to Validation Authority

  • Server Start Time - Time at which the Validation Authority was started.

  • Recent OCSP activity - Number of OCSP validation requests made in the last 60 seconds.

The following status reports are available:

  • Total OCSP Requests by Resolution – This status report summarizes information about the number of OCSP requests and its request resolution served since the Validation Authority has been started.

  • Last 10 OCSP Requests - This status report summarizes information of the 10 most recent requests Validation Authority has processed.

  • Proof Directory Listing - This status report summarizes information of the Proof files generated by Validation Authority.

Total OCSP Requests by Resolution

This section provides a summary of the OCSP requests served since the Validation Authority has been started. The summary is organized by Request Resolution as follows:

  • Success

  • Unknown credential

  • Error

OCSP Request History

This section provides detail of the 10 most recent requests Validation Authority has processed.

The table contains:

  • The Time at which the request was received,

  • The Client (IP address) of the client making the request,

  • The Issuer Name (the distinguished name) of the issuer of the certificate,

  • The Issuer Public Key Hash.

  • The Serial Number of the certificate being queried,

  • The Resolution (outcome of the request using the terminology described in the Total OCSP Requests by Resolution section) ,

  • The Response Type that was returned.

Note: When the issuer of the certificate is not known, the hash of the issuer’s distinguished name (used in the query to identify the issuer) is shown in the Issuer column.

Proof Directory Listing

This section provides information about the Proof files generated by the Validation Authority.
