Upgrading the Smart Data Bridge

Use the following procedures to upgrade the Smart Data Bridge from a previous version.

1. Stop the Smart Data Bridge.

2. Back up all directories, including every directory behind the Smart Data Bridge installation.

3. Run the uninstaller for Smart Data Bridge.

4. Run the installer for Smart Data Bridge 7.4.

5. Replace configuration and data directories:

   1. Copy the backed up files from the <SMARTDATABRIDGE>/conf directory to:

      • For Windows: C:\Program Files\HID Global\Smart Data Bridge\smart-data-bridge\conf

      • For Linux: /opt/hidglobal/smart_data_bridge/smart-data-bridge/conf

   2. Do the same with the backed up files from the following directories:

      • <SMARTDATABRIDGE>/data

      • <SMARTDATABRIDGE>/failedrequests

      • <SMARTDATABRIDGE>/successfulrequests

6. Start Smart Data Bridge 7.4.

   Important: Edit the logging configuration file, logging.properties, to reflect the same log level as the previous installation.
