FIDO Authenticator Enrollment

The FIDO authenticator enrollment process depends on the settings and criteria you have defined in the authentication workflow. You can enroll your FIDO authenticator with the use of FIDO authenticator key.

Note:

  • We are using the Crescendo key as the FIDO authenticator key for this enrollment process.

  • If you do not have FIDO authenticator key, you can enroll the FIDO authenticator by creating a passkey with the use of your mobile/tablet or any other external security key as per the instructions given in your browser dialogs box.

The following procedure provides an overview of enrollment process for the FIDO authenticator:

  1. Plug the FIDO authenticator key into a USB port and wait for a steady or flashing Green light.

  2. Click Enroll your FIDO device button to start the enrollment process.

    Note: Follow the instructions given in your browser dialogs for the enrollment process as the instructions and dialogs might be different based on the browser you are using.

  3. Enter your security key PIN.

    Note: During first time enrollment, it will ask to set up the security key PIN.

  4. The FIDO authentication prompt is displayed.

  5. The FIDO authenticator key light flashes Orange. Then tap the FIDO Authenticator key or press the FIDO button once.

  6. Now, the FIDO authenticator is registered successfully, and a message will be displayed for the same.
