Bug Fixes

  • LSA Protection issue in Windows 22H2/23H2 (#03402737)

  • Installation - Change in internal PowerShell script signing (#00008124)

    Details: In order to sign the inner PowerShell scripts, we are now signing directly using the Advanced Installer in-built signing feature. The change applies to both installers: ActivClient and standalone Minidriver.

Revision History

Uninstall Clean-up

The installer now handles the complete uninstalling of the Minidriver; in other words, it does not leave any registry entries or files behind.

Logging Improvement

Starting with version 8.1 the MSI installer:

  • Installs the registry key Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HID Global\Logging\Products\ActivClient with the Enabled value set to 0,

  • And creates the following directories:

    • C:\Program Files\ Common Files \HID Global\Logs\x86

    • C:\Program Files\ Common Files \HID Global\Logs\x64

    In addition, write permission is enabled for all users; so to enable logging, just set the value for Enabled to 1.

Fully Automated Upgrade Procedure

The MSI installer detects if any previous version of the standalone Minidriver was installed (particularly the auto-update one) and removes it including all resources. Consequently, there is no install/upgrade/uninstall scenario that would require manual actions besides the MSI installation itself.

Bug Fixes

  • Smartcards were not properly displayed in device manager.

  • Don't store public key if we also store certificate (Case #03228411)

  • Fix unlock of cards with custom XAuth profile (Case #03291662)

  • Improved compatibility with Windows 22H2 update for various applications when using smart card logon

Support for HID Global Crescendo devices

HID Crescendo 2300 Minidriver now supports Crescendo 3000 smart card and Crescendo Key V2 USB token.

Upgrading the C2300 Minidriver to 1.3

Support for Enterprise – Crescendo profile

HID Crescendo 2300 Minidriver now supports Enterprise Crescendo device profiles available with "ActivID Credential Management System 5.8 (Coming end of August 2022)", the new profiles are compatible with Crescendo 2300 cards and Crescendo Key and offer more flexibility.

Microsoft Windows Certified

HID Crescendo 2300 Minidriver 1.2 has been certified by Microsoft for Windows 11 and expanded to Windows 10, Windows Server 2019 and Windows Server 2022.

The updates are as follows:

  • Support for Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) to issue and manage HID Crescendo 2300 iCLASS® device.
