Resetting the Crescendo PIV Configuration

In the steps below, the PIV PKI certificate configuration on the selected Crescendo device will be reset. Resetting the PIV configuration will clear any generated, loaded, or imported PKI certificates from the PKI certificate slots as well as reset the PIV cryptographic state of the Crescendo device. All certificates and generated keys will be deleted.

Warning! Performing a Reset PIV operation will permanently revert the PIV PKI certificate slots on the Crescendo device to their original factory state. Any configured PKI certificate data will be permanently lost.

  1. To perform the Reset PIV operation, navigate to the Applications screen, locate the PIV section, and select the Reset PIV link:

  1. The Reset PIV Slots confirmation dialog appears. Enter the Crescendo device PIN and click Submit to proceed with the reset operation:

  1. If the operation succeeds, all PIV data is removed from the device, and the success message is displayed:

    The PIV PKI certificate data can now be reconfigured.
