Configuring ActivID CMS for Use with an AWS CloudHSM

This section provides an outline of the prerequisites needed to use an AWS CloudHSM with ActivID CMS. This information is not intended to replace the AWS CloudHSM documentation.

Note: The information in this section is based on the assumption that you have already configured and set up an AWS CloudHSM running in a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) following the vendor documentation.

Prerequisites

AWS VPC connectivity must be set up by your IT services.
An AWS CloudHSM cluster must be created. For detailed information, refer to the AWS CloudHSM documentation.
An AWS CloudHSM Client must be installed on the host machine where ActivID CMS is installed.

For detailed information on setting up your AWS CloudHSM, refer to the AWS CloudHSM documentation.

Once you have set up a local CloudHSM Client connected with your AWS CloudHSM, you just need to load the DLL C:\Program Files\Amazon\CloudHSM\lib\cloudhsm_pkcs11.dll on the machine where the AWS CloudHSM Client is installed in order to use it with ActivID CMS and ActivID KMS.
