About HID Validation Authority

The HID Validation Suite provides an infrastructure for validating the revocation status of digital certificates using Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP) and Server-based Certificate Validation Protocol (SCVP). The suite includes two infrastructure components. The HID Validation Authority (VA) component ensures the accuracy of the certificate status information. The Validation Responder (VR) component ensures the timeliness and availability of certificate status information.

The Validation Suite provides an infrastructure for validating the revocation status of digital certificates using the OCSP and SCVP protocols.

The core operational tasks of the HID Validation Suite are:

• To maintain accurate certificate status information, and

• To distribute accurate certificate status information in a timely fashion to relying party applications and remote subscribers.
