System Requirements

This section describes the minimum hardware and software requirements for the Validation Responder.

Operating System and Hardware Requirements

The Validation Responder is available as software in the configuration shown below and is supported on the following platforms:

  • Microsoft® Windows® Server 2019, 2022, and 2025 (64-bit)

  • Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® versions 8 and 9

To access the Validation Responder management interface, the following clients are supported in addition to the server themselves:

  • Windows 10 (x64) via the following browsers:

    • Google® Chrome

    • Firefox®

    • Microsoft Edge®

Interoperability with Other Components of the HID Validation Suite

HID Validation Responder 7.5 is compatible with:

  • HID Validation Authority 7.5/7.4/7.3

  • Desktop Validation Client 7.3/7.4, SerVE for Microsoft Domain Controller 7.3/7.4, SerVE for Microsoft IIS 7.3/7.4, and SerVE for Exchange OWA 7.3/7.4

Validation Responder is also compatible with the following OCSP clients. Any client that supports the OCSP standard should work with Validation Authority.

  • Adobe® Acrobat Professional

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader

  • OpenSSL OCSP toolkit (open source)
