About HID® ActivClient® for Linux

ActivClient is middleware for smart cards and USB tokens that allows enterprise and government customers to easily use security devices to secure workstations and networks.

ActivClient enables the use of PKI certificates and keys, one-time passwords and static password credentials stored on a smart card or a USB key to secure:

ActivClient Components

ActivClient consists of the following components:

  • ActivClient Console: Provides a management GUI for your security devices and credentials.

  • ActivClient Agent: A background utility accessible from the notification area that monitors security device activity and provides quick access to ActivClient functions.

  • ActivClient PKCS#11: Provides smart card support for applications relying on the PKCS#11 API.
