Upgrade

Prerequisites:
  • You must back up your existing AAA Administration and Server databases before starting the upgrade.
  • If necessary, you have upgraded to AAA Server 6.8.
  • Before installing the AAA Server 7.0, you must stop the AAA Server service.

  • Before upgrading to version 7.0 of the AAA Server, you must upgrade the client-side components to the corresponding versions.

    For AAA Server 7.0, if you use smart cards or USB Keys, you must use ActivID ActivClient 7.2.x.

  • If you are also upgrading the Web Help Desk on the machine, you must back up the Security Questions and Answers data (if configured) and uninstall the Web Help Desk before upgrading the AAA Server. The AAA Server setup program does not proceed until the component has been removed. See Deploying the Web Help Desk for upgrade information.

  • You should verify the total number of active users in your AAA Server system and make sure that you have sufficient licenses.

    You can obtain the total from the Administration Console Help menu, by clicking the About ActivID AAA Server Administration Console option.
