Start and Stop the AAA Server
You can use either of the following procedures to stop or start the AAA Service:
- Use the Windows Services Manager.
- Use the AAA Server Configuration Tool.
Use the Windows Services Manager
- From the Windows Start menu, point to Programs, Administrative Tools, and then click Services.

Highlight ActivID AAA Server in the list and then, from the tool bar, click Action (Start or Stop) or:
- Click on the tool bar to stop the server.
- Click on the tool bar to start the server.
Use the AAA Server Configuration Tool

From the Windows Start menu, point to Programs, ActivID, AAA, and then click Server Configurator.
- If the AAA Server is not running, then you are prompted for authentication credentials. Follow the steps in Configure the ActivID AAA Server to access the main ActivPack Configuration window.
- If the AAA Server is running, then a warning message states that if you open the AAA Server Configuration tool, the AAA Server service stops automatically. Click Yes to stop the server and access the ActivPack Configuration window.
- When you are finished modifying the configuration, click Apply to close the dialog box.
A message is displayed with the message to confirm (re)start.
- Click Yes to start the server. Optionally, click No if you want to start the service later.
If you have any problems starting up the server, check the Application Journal in the Microsoft Windows Event Viewer.
