Synchronizing HID Approve Tokens

If a one-time password is rejected by the application you are trying to access, then the HID Approve device might be de-synchronized. If this happens, then you must synchronize the token using either the Web Self Help Desk or by contacting a help desk operator and providing the required information.

  1. Log on to the Web Self Help Desk as described in section Accessing the AAA Web Self Help Desk.

  2. In the Web Self Help Desk welcome page, select your HID Approve device from the pull-down menu of available devices. If only one device is activated, it is the only device shown.

    Note: .HID Approve devices can be identified as having serial numbers which begin with a_.
  3. To re-synchronize with a generated OTP, select Synchronize with password and:

    1. Launch the HID Approve app on your mobile device.

    2. Choose the appropriate service from the list of services.

    3. Tap the screen to generate a one-time Secure Code in the Password field in the Web Self Help Desk.

    4. Click Synchronize.

      A success message is displayed.
