Customizing Your Appliance
You can customize ActivID Appliance solution to match your organization’s or domain-specific branding requirements:
-
Customize/localize text and images.
-
Customize the design (styles and layout) of the ActivID Authentication Portal.
- Customize the authentication flow and pages displayed by the ActivID Authentication Portal so that only user-specific actions are available.
-
Configure features per security domain:
- ActivID Self-Service Portal features available per security domain
- Token activation settings per user group
-
Preserve existing label customization when the software is updated by a hot fix or Service Pack.
Software updates affect the default and customized English files for each customized domain per the application affected by the update. Customized labels remain unchanged.
Important: If new labels are added by the update, you need to add them to your non-English customized files manually and translate them. Repeat this operation for all added language files and customized domain language files. These labels are automatically added to your English customized files and you can customize them manually.
The customization process consists of the following steps:
-
Customize the files – see Customize the ActivID Appliance Design and Customize the User Authentication Process.

For the Authentication Portal and the Self-Service Portal, the default labels will be displayed automatically for the other non-customized keys.
For the ActivID Management Console, the default labels will NOT be displayed automatically for the other non-customized keys and the key names will be displayed instead.
Therefore, for the ActivID Management Console, all keys must be provided in the customized package.
