About the ActivID UNIX Terminal

The functions of the ActivID UNIX terminal are available using dedicated scripts.

Prerequisites: The appliance must be connected to a keyboard and a monitor. It is recommended that you enter data directly on the physical appliance (instead of using the IPMI keyboard) when using the UNIX terminal.

Access to the UNIX terminal is protected by a password associated to the ActivID Appliance administrator (appadmin) UNIX account.

Note: Entering an incorrect password repeatedly will block UNIX terminal access for a few minutes.

The following shell scripts are available for configuration updates and/or administration:

Script Description

configure_keyboard_layout.sh

Configure the keyboard layout (default is US English (us))

configure_network.sh

Modify the appliance hostname and network

reboot.sh.

Reboot the appliance

restart_activid_console.sh

Restart the ActivID Console

shutdown.sh

Shut down the appliance

Note: You will be automatically logged out after five (5) minutes has elapsed between two user inputs (such as menu selection or data entry) validated by pressing Enter. This does not apply if an operation takes longer to complete.
