Managing Devices

This section explains how to initialize, import, export, unlock, and delete devices.

  • From the navigation tree, you can access the main devices functionality – right-click on Devices and then click the appropriate command in the shortcut menu.

  • From the menu bar, you can access some of the same functions, plus additional devices functionality – from the Devices menu, click the appropriate command to:

    • Initialize new devices

    • Read card data

    • Manage cipher keys

    • Import and export devices from the Console

    • Sign new device initialization profiles

  • Note: For further information about the navigation tree and menu bar, see Device Initialization Console.

Device Filter Toolbar

The Device Filter toolbar appears below the menu bar in the Console. It is used to filter the number and type of devices displaying in the Console (useful if you have thousands or even hundreds of initialized devices).

During initialization, the Device Initialization Tool sets the device type value for the device (for example, 1122).

If an OCRA application is present on the device, the device type value corresponds to the value in the OATH column of the table below (even if other applications exist).

The following table lists the device type values set during initialization.
