Start Validation Responder Configuration

There are two configuration options: You can upgrade and use previous configuration settings, or configure from scratch.

  1. Click Begin to start Validation Responder configuration.

    Option 1: To upgrade and use existing configuration settings:

    1. Follow carefully the Instructions for upgrading.

    2. Enter the Old installation directory path, and then click Next.

    Option 2: To start a fresh configuration, click Next.

    Warning! You must complete all configuration on all pages. Do NOT quit in the middle of the configuration process.

For both upgrades and a fresh installation, you must complete all the steps, as prompted. You will configure:

Response List Sources - Configure sources of pre-generated OCSP response list used by the Validation Responder to service OCSP requests.

Response List Polling Schedule - Manage the schedule on which the Validation Responder checks for new pre-generated OCSP response lists from configured sources.

OCSP Request Relaying - Configure the servers to which OCSP requests are relayed when a request cannot be serviced by the Validation Responder.

OCSP Request Logging - Configure logging of OCSP requests.

Note: During upgrade, by default, the log location will be the previous version installation directory. If required, you can set it to the current version installation directory.

Path Data Sources - Configure sources of the SCVP certification path data.

Path Data Polling Schedule - Configure the schedule on which the Validation Responder checks for new or updated data from configured path data sources.

Default Service - Configure how the Validation Responder services OCSP requests and SCVP requests.

Proxy - Configure HTTP proxy support for how the Validation Responder accesses HTTP resources through a proxy server.

Ports and Ciphers - Configure the ports and ciphers for HTTP and HTTPS connections.

Start/Restart Server - Start or restart the Validation Responder software so that changes to the configuration take effect.
