FIDO

The FIDO section, accessible from the navigation pane, allows you to view and delete FIDO Fast IDentity Online. A security standard used for online authentication, based on a cryptographic key pair unique to each online service. For more information, visit https://fidoalliance.org/how-fido-works/ credentials stored on your device.

Note: This functionality is supported only on Crescendo 4000 Series devices.
Note: (macOS only) To display FIDO credentials for Crescendo Keys correctly, ensure that only one key is connected. Multiple cards can be connected without affecting FIDO functionality.
Note: Only discoverable FIDO credentials will be displayed. FIDO credentials that were created as non-discoverable will not appear in the list.
Note: Known limitation:

When Crescendo Manager is running in a virtual machine (VM) with a smart card reader connected in shared mode, FIDO functionality is not available.

FIDO Credentials view

To view your FIDO credentials:

  1. Click the FIDO tab in the navigation pane.

    Note: (Windows only) To display FIDO credentials, Crescendo Manager must be run as administrator. If not, you will be prompted to restart the application as administrator.
  2. Authenticate using your FIDO PIN.

  3. A list of FIDO credentials stored on your device will be displayed.

  • To view details of a credential, click it in the list.

  • To delete a credential, click the trash bin icon trash bin icon on the right.

  • To filter the list, type into the Filter credentials field.

FIDO Authenticator Information

Crescendo Manager allows you to view the FIDO authenticator information. This information provides an overview of the properties and capabilities of the connected FIDO security device. It includes identifying details, supported FIDO standards and protocols, and available authentication features.

To view the FIDO authenticator information:

  1. After authenticating with your FIDO PIN, click the information Info icon icon next to the FIDO Credentials heading.

  2. The FIDO Authenticator Info dialog opens.
