Reset the ActivID Appliance to the Factory Settings (Hardware)

Warning! The Factory Reset operation erases the appliance content and configuration. It is an irreversible operation.

You can revert the ActivID Appliance to the default settings it had when it was delivered.

You must verify that you have a backup of your appliance before performing the factory reset function.

Prerequisites:  In the ActivID Console:

Perform the reset

  1. Restart the appliance and, in the boot menu, select the Factory Reset option.
  2. Select whether to reset the IPMI and overwrite the database disks (the default response for both options is n).
  3. A dedicated script will perform the reset.

Restore your Deployment

  1. Using the terminal and ActivID Console, initialize the ActivID Appliance. For further information, refer to the ActivID Appliance Setup Guide available from the ActivID Customer Portal.
  2. If required, configure the Cryptographic Type as described in the ActivID Appliance Hardware Security Module Configuration Guide available from the ActivID Customer Portal.
  3. Restore the backup you created before resetting the appliance.
  4. For customized appliances, upload the customization package.
