About Device Management

The Device Management features are designed to facilitate the enrollment of FIDO-compatible Crescendo devices (device-bound passkeys) to Microsoft Entra ID users.

After configuring Customer Central as an Microsoft Entra ID application, you can leverage the batch provisioning process to enroll Crescendo devices for multiple users without a cumbersome prompt-based and per-user workflow.

As users no longer need to manually enroll their devices, this alleviates the onboarding burden for both end users and administrators, leading to improved adoption of FIDO technology and its advantages for secure passwordless authentication.

Once enrolled, the Crescendo devices are registered as valid credentials by Microsoft Entra ID and users can authenticate to protected services and applications as with any other approved credential.

Unique to HID, Customer Central also provides passkey lifecycle management, allowing to unlock the PIN for passkeys, therefore avoiding the loss of registered credentials for multiple applications and eliminating the need for backup devices.
