Configuration of Printing Parameters

This article help guide explains how to set the printing parameters, which will print the badges when visitors Checked In at Windows workstation.

This article is only applicable for Windows workstations not required for IOS app .

SAFE Edge Smart Client

Follow this section if Customers are using SAFE Edge Smart Client

Prerequisites

Printing Configuration

  1. Login to the SAFE Edge Smart Client Configurator. Click here for more details.

  2. Navigate to SAFE Badge Printing tab. Add and update the following properties to configure the devices as required:

    Parameters Value Descriptions
    PDFPRINT_Printername

    Printer Name
    Example: Brother QL-820NWB

    		 Enter the badge printer name.
    PDFPRINT_PreviewEnabled True/False On setting this value to True, the card preview screen will appear in the UI. If set to False, the card preview screen will not appear in the UI. By default, it is set to False.


IE-based Smart Client

Follow this section if Customers are using IE-based Smart Client

Prerequisites

Printing Configuration

  1. Navigate to C:\Program Files\HID\SAFE Smart Client.

  2. Right-click the SAFEClient.exe.config file and open with Notepad.Update the value of each parameter in the file as per the used peripherals and deployment preferences.

  3. Add the following properties in the SAFEClient.exe.config to configure the devices as required:

Parameters Value Descriptions
PDFPRINT_Printername

Printer Name
Example: Brother QL-820NWB

Smart Client printer configuration

Enter the badge printer name.
DefaultAddress

Tenant URL (It could be either HID Visitor Manager or HID Visitor Manager Kiosk)

Smart Client printer configuration

Enter the address of the Tenant URL that you want to connect.
PDFPRINT_PreviewEnabled True/False On setting this value to True, the card preview screen will appear in the UI. If set to False, the card preview screen will not appear in the UI. By default, it is set to False.
